This is a compact selection of the Showy or Purple Mullien, ideal for the front of a sunny border, in containers or the rock garden. It forms a low rosette of crinkly, scalloped green leaves, bearing upright stems with spikes of flowers shades of grape purple. Excellent for cutting. Remove finished spikes to encourage repeat flowering. Tends to act as a biennial or short-lived perennial, but plants will often self sow if seed is allowed to mature in late summer.
