Geum ‘Alabama Slammer’

Geum

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.235.510

Also known as Avens, this offers a flash of hot colour for the early summer border. This new hybrid forms a low clump of glossy, light green leaves, with taller, branching burgundy-purple stems. Flowers are medium-sized, ruffled, semi-double and single, gold with orange-red markings and appear late spring through to early summer. Remove faded flowers regularly to encourage more buds. Plants may be pruned back hard after blooming, to rejuvenate the foliage. Clumps should be divided every 3 to 4 years in spring or fall. Part of the Cocktails™ series. Bred by Brent Horvath of Intrinsic Perennial Gardens. USPP#23750: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
