Here's the complete description for this Heritage Perennial. Drop in any time to see the rest of our collection.

 Plant Number: 1.330.530USDA Zone: 4 - 9
Lupinus Woodfield Hybrids
Common name :  Woodfield Hybrid Lupine
The tall spires of Lupines are an unforgettable sight in the early summer border. Plants grow best in a deep, rich soil, slightly on the acidic side. This superior British strain produces flowers in nearly every shade of the rainbow, often with lovely bicolored blooms. As these are short-lived perennials, allow some plants to set seed. Reported to have improved resistance to the fungal problems that often kill tiny Lupine seedlings before they have a chance to grow. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.

What others say about this plant...
Aphids and powdery mildew are the banes of lupines' existence, but just prune the plants back to the ground if they begin to look under the weather; they'll quickly sprout healthy new growth. Where lupines fail to thrive, consider replacing them every two years.; Larry Hodgson, Perennials for Every Purpose
