Thymus ‘Broad-leaf English’

Broad-leaf English Thyme

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.515.400

There are a great many selection of Thyme used in gardens, all of them with edible leaves and some degree of fragrance and flavor. This variety forms a low, mounding bush of dark green leaves, with clusters of soft lavender-mauve flowers in summer. Excellent flavor, one of the best selections for cooking. Prefers a sunny site. Plants are drought tolerant, once established. Flowers are attractive to butterflies. This is a bush selection, rather than a creeping form, so plants are not easily divided. Clip plants lightly immediately after blooming, to maintain a compact habit. Evergreen.
