It forms a slow-growing, well-behaved clump of beautiful metallic-blue leaves, bearing taller stems of small blue flowers in early summer. Plants resent hot, humid summer regions as well as winter wet. Best grown in a well-drained rock garden or raised bed. May remain evergreen in mild winter regions, but foliage may also be cut back hard in early spring. Clumps should not require dividing for several years, but this may be done in early spring.
