Erysimum ‘Apricot Twist’

Shrubby Wallflower

USDA Zone: 7-9

Plant number: 1.206.110

A shrubby, bushy-growing selection that does best in mild-winter regions. Handsome jagged grey-green leaves nicely set off the profuse clusters of flowers. Blooms are a delightful blend of deep and soft apricot-orange, opening from purple buds. This Wallflower suits the rock garden, or along the front of a hot sunny border or foundation planting. Plants are naturally compact and mounding. Drought tolerant once established. Like most varieties, the flowers have a warm and spicy fragrance. Wallflowers become woody and benefit from being cut back by half in mid to late June, to promote new growth from near the base. Just recently introduced from New Zealand. Possibly hardy to Zone 6 or colder.
