Achillea millefolium ‘Red Velvet’

Yarrow

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.010.110

Yarrow is an easy perennial, growing in nearly any sunny situation, even where there is poor soil. Plants form low mounds of fragrant ferny foliage, with clusters of flowers appearing on upright stems in early summer. This deep rose-red selection fades less than older types. Good for cutting and drying. Remove faded flowers regularly, to promote continued blooming. Inclined to spread, so site this carefully or plan to reduce the clumps each spring. Easily divided in fall or early spring. Trim back to 4 inches after flowering is finished to maintain a compact habit. Heat tolerant.
