Ligularia ‘Osiris Café Noir’

Dwarf Ligularia

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.317.760

A unique Canadian selection of Ligularia or Elephant Ears, this is a bold-leaved specimen perennial that needs a moist location. It forms amidsized moundof large, jagged-edged leaves that emerge deep black-purple, ageing to bronze shades and eventually to olive green. Taller stems appear in midsummer, bearing golden-yellow daisy flowers. Superb for themiddle of the border, in containers or at the waterside. Both the flowers and leaves are great for cutting. This selection has fairly thick leaves but slugsmay stillbe troublesome and require control. In warm summer regions plan to grow this in shade.Quite likely hardy to Zone 3 or colder.
