Iris ensata purple selection

Japanese Iris

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.288.160

Japanese Iris have been treasured in Japan for centuries, with many excellent hybrids selected over time. They produce the largest flowers of all Irises, require neutral to acidic soil, and lots of moisture until blooming time is over. Plants form a vigorous clump of grassy leaves, bearing large, showy flowers in shades of violet to deep purple. Ideal for ponds, streams and boggy areas. Great for cutting. Should be divided every 3 to 4 years in late summer. Fertilize in spring and again just after flowering is over. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
