Geranium macrorrhizum ‘Variegatum’

Bigroot Cranesbill

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.230.480

This is a rarely offered form of the Bigroot Cranesbill, with fragrant soft-green leaves delicately edged and streaked in creamy yellow. Small magenta-pink flowers appear in early summer. This selection grows best in a rich, moist woodland setting, with protection from hot afternoon sun. Combines beautifully with other woodland plants, including ferns, Pulmonaria and Hosta. Clumps may be divided every few years in early spring. Remove and all-green shoots that might appear, since these will be vigorous and might overtake the variegated portions of the clump.
