Centaurea montana ‘Black Sprite’

Bachelor’s Button

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.125.060

A new colour selection of Perennial Cornflower, forming a low mound of grey-green leaves with an early summer display of shaggy flowers. Flowers are exotic-looking, with silky, purple-black, starburst petals. A good choice for near the front of the border, in full sun to part shade. Flowers are great for cutting. Remove faded blooms to prevent self seeding. Plants may benefit from a hard cutting back in midsummer to rejuvenate the foliage. Easy to grow. Drought tolerant once established. USPP#23250: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
