Also known as Green and Gold. This is an easy-to-grow perennial most often used as a groundcover in moist, shady sites. Plants form a low spreading mound of toothed, light green, triangular leaves, studded in spring with small, star-shaped golden-yellow flowers. While not a showy plant, it is much in demand for groundcover use in many parts of the country. Combines beautifully with Hostas, ferns and other plants that appreciate moist, shady sites. Easily divided in the spring or early fall. Evergreen in mild winter areas.
