Anemone nemorosa ‘Allenii’

Wood Anemone

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.040.060

Native throughout northern Europe, the Wood Anemone is a charming plant for the early spring garden. Clumps creep slowly to form a groundcover, studded with star shaped flowers. This selection has blooms of deep lavender-blue, streaked purple on the backside. Combines beautifully with spring-flowering bulbs and wildflowers, particularly yellow narcissus. Once the clumps get large they may be divided in early fall by digging and ripping apart into pieces. May become dormant during summer droughts.
