Coreopsis ‘Red Satin’

Threadleaf Coreopsis

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.165.380

Threadleaf Coreopsis forms a spreading clump of very delicate, ferny foliage and is native to the eastern United States, east of the Mississippi River, growing in dry, sunny locations where it is tolerant of drought, poor soil, heat and neglect. This selection is the first member of a new series and bears loads of deep wine to ruby red flowers with an orange centre over dark green foliage. Flower colour doesn't fade in the summer heat. Blooming begins in summer and lasts into the fall. Attractive to butterflies. Excellent in the middle of the sunny border, in mixed containers and as a cut flower. Clipping off faded flowers will encourage buds to form all season. Tolerant of hot, dry sites, once established. Easily divided in early spring. Bred by Darrell Probst as part of the PERMATHREAD™ Series. USPP#25736: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
