Dryopteris pseudo-filix-mas

Mexican Male Fern

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 9.030.430

Native to high mountains of Mexico, this forms an upright clump of triangular green fronds, getting quite large when happy. Continues to produce new fronds for the entire season. Prefers a rich, moist soil and winter mulching is recommended until plants are established. Cut back all of the old fronds to the base in late winter. Useful as a bold specimen fern in the shade garden, growing well with Hosta and other moisture loving plants.
