Dryopteris erythrosora

Autumn Fern

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 9.030.200

Autumn Fern gets its name from the coppery-pink colour of the new fronds, which contrast beautifully with the more mature dark green ones. Evergreen in mild winter regions, this is one of the best species for mass planting in moist woodland areas. Plants will tolerate some sun if the site is evenly moist. Old fronds may be trimmed in spring, if they look untidy. Mulch around the plants with dead leaves in the fall, to help conserve moisture in summer. Clumps may be divided every 3 to 4 years, in early spring.
