Pennisetum ‘Burgundy Giant’

Burgundy Giant Fountain Grass

USDA Zone: 10-12

Plant number: 8.300.210

An extremely showy selection of Fountain Grass, terrific as a focal point in containers and annual plantings. Plants form an upright clump of wide corn-like burgundy-purple leaves, bearing arching bottlebrush flowers that change from red to tan. Although not winter hardy in most regions, this may be treated as an annual or wintered indoors. Clumps are easily divided in early spring, still getting large and flowering the same year. Seen with more frequency at botanical gardens, this is well worth growing even as an annual.
