Panicum virgatum ‘Cheyenne Sky’

Red Switch Grass

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 8.290.030

The most compact Switch Grass selection on the market, ideal for sunny borders, mixed containers or for massing. This emerges with blue-green leaves in late spring, forming a tidy and well-behaved mound. By late summer the leaf tips have turned a deep wine-red shade just as airy sprays of dark-red flowers begin to appear. Stays attractive well into winter. Trim plants back to the ground in early to mid spring. Bred by Gary Trucks of Amber Wave Gardens in Michigan. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
