Bromus inermis ‘Skinner’s Gold’

Golden Brome Grass

USDA Zone: 1-9

Plant number: 8.070.100

Selected in Northern Manitoba, this hardy grass forms a spreading clump of leaves striped brightly with green and yellow. Loose spikes of yellow flowers appear in early summer, with good interest as cut flowers. In warm summer areas plants may benefit from a hard clip in July to rejuvenate the leaves. Clumps are easily divided in spring or fall. Planting in containers will help to control the clumps from spreading too far. Cut to the ground in late winter.
