Spike Speedwell

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.540.830

Spike Speedwell is the most popular of the various Veronicas available and highly valued. This selection features a bushy clump of dark green leaves, bearing upright, long spikes of violet-purple flowers covering up to 1/2 of the plant. Blooms mid through late summer but removing faded spikes will keep plants in flower longer. Excellent for cutting. Easily divided in fall or early spring. Growing plants in a moist site will help to keep powdery-mildew in check. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Bred and introduced to market by Walters Gardens, Inc., Zeeland, MI, USA. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
