Tradescantia ‘Blue and Gold’

Spiderwort

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.520.460

Also known by the name ‘Sweet Kate'. This remarkable selection has bright chartreuse-yellow grassy foliage, forming a compact mound and studded with a long display of rich gentian-blue triangular flowers. Flowering will continue all summer if old blooms are removed. Loves a rich, moist soil. If the plants collapses in summer, just prune back to 2 inches to rejuvenate. Spiderworts appreciate a moist, rich soil, and will even tolerate wet sites beside a stream or pond. Clumps may be easily divided in early spring. Attractive to butterflies.
