Rudbeckia fulgida var. fulgida

Autumn Black-eyed Susan

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.455.030

This native form of the Black-eyed Susan is longer flowering than the more familiar garden selection ‘Goldsturm', continuing well into October in many regions. Plants are of medium habit, bearing loads of golden-orange daisies with a dark brown eye. Superb cut flower. Foliage is shiny and heat tolerant. Slightly smaller blooms. Seedheads have good winter interest. A terrific choice for mass planting, combining especially well with ornamental grasses. Removing faded flowers regularly will greatly increase the blooming time. Easily divided in early spring.
