Podophyllum ‘Kaleidoscope’

Hybrid May Apple

USDA Zone: 6-9

Plant number: 1.426.450

This exotic-looking hybrid is a close cousin to our native May Apple. Upright stems appear in spring, bearing huge umbrella-shaped green leaves boldly marked with bronze and creamy silver. Mature plants develop clusters of burgundy-red flowers that produce yellow fleshy fruits. Best in a woodland garden with rich, moist soil. Unusual and rare. Avoid disturbing this plant once it gets established. May prove to be hardy in colder regions. USPP#14460: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
