Persicaria amplexicaulis ‘Taurus’

Mountain Fleeceflower

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.406.570

The Mountain Fleeceflowers are tough carefree plants, widely used in European gardens, and now becoming more familiar here in North America. This selection forms a bushy, spreading, medium-sized clump of shiny, leathery green leaves, bearing long spikes of fluffy, crimson-red flowers beginning in midsummer and continuing right through to the fall. Wonderful for massing in boggy areas or at the waterside. Also suitable as a groundcover and in mixed containers or tubs. Excellent for cutting. Easily divided in early spring. For best performance provide shade and extra moisture in warm summer regions. Shear back the spent flowers in fall, if desired. From Blooms of Bressingham®. USPP#9682: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.
