Beard-tongue

USDA Zone: 5-9

Beard-tongues are native North American wildflowers, available in a surprising range of colours, heights and textures. This selection forms a low clump of thick, glossy green foliage, with upright spikes of bright purple trumpet flowers featuring a white-striped throat, in late spring/early summer. Attractive in the border, containers and useful for cutting. Long blooming. An excellent low-maintenance perennial, especially for hot, dry sites. Attractive to both butterflies and hummingbirds.
