Ligularia dentata ‘King Kong’

Big-leaved Ligularia

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.317.780

A unique and amazing selection of Ligularia or Elephant Ears, this is a bold specimen perennial that needs a moist location. It forms a clump of the same thick, leathery, burgundy-purple foliage as L. ‘Britt Marie Crawford’ but the leaves are nearly twice as big, up to 40cm (16") across. Taller stems appear in late summer, bearing clusters of bright golden-yellow daisy flowers. Best colour in a morning-sun border. Superb for the back of the border, or at the waterside. An unusual centerpiece for a tub or large container. Both the flowers and leaves are great for cutting. Clumps may be divided in the spring, every 3 to 4 years. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
