Kniphofia ‘Samuel’s Sensation’

Torchlily

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.300.200

Torchlilies are easy to grow in the garden, so long as the soil is well-drained, particularly in winter. This tall selection produces big spikes of scarlet-red flowers that take on yellow tones as they age. Foliage forms a grass mound, deciduous in winter. Flowers are attractive to hummingbirds and great for cutting. Drought tolerant, once established. Clumps may be divided every 3 to 4 years in the spring. Received a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (1993).
