Heuchera ‘Brownies’

Fancy-leaf Coral Bells

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.266.070

This European hybrid forms a mound of strikingly large maple-shaped leaves, with a somewhat crinkly texture. The hairy upper surface is bronzy-brown, the red undersides showing as the leaf edges curl. Tall sprays of ivory-white flowers rise above in mid to late summer, later than most other selections. Sturdy in habit, nice for borders or in containers. Remove any winter-burned leaves in the spring, otherwise no pruning is required. Developed in France by plant breeder Thierry Delabroye, using Heuchera villosa in his breeding lines.
