Helleborus dumetorum

Green-flowered Hellebore

USDA Zone: 6-9

Plant number: 1.256.040

Clusters of small green flowers are the main feature of this seldom-seen species, appearing in late winter and early spring. Plants are deciduous in winter, springing out of the ground during early mild spells and producing fairly coarse, divided green leaves. Long lived and compact in size. Prefers shady woodland conditions, with morning sun or bright dappled shade. Some protection from untimely spring frosts may be required — keep a bag of dry leaves handy just in case. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
