Geranium sylvaticum ‘Mayflower’

Wood Cranesbill

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.230.560

The Border selections of Cranesbill are valuable fillers for colour in early to midsummer. This selection’s parent plant is native to Europe and northern Turkey where it thrives in damp meadows. The plant produces stunning, bright blue, cup-shaped flowers with a white eye in late spring and early summer, over a bushy mound of deeply-cut green leaves. Prune plants back hard after blooming, to rejuvenate the foliage. One of the better selections for summer foliage. Clumps may be easily divided in spring or fall. Appreciates a moist site. Ideal for the woodland garden. Holder of the Royal Horticultural Society’s prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) for outstanding excellence.
