Butterfly Gaura

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.224.190

(='Walgaupf') A midsized Gaura selection, this has a very bushy habit with loads of buds appearing all season long. The plant forms a mound of green leaves that are reddish when they first open. Small silky blooms of soft blush-pink are held just above on short wiry stems. Excellent in containers or in the sunny border. Needs good drainage in winter or it may behave as an annual. Bred by David Tristram of Walberton Nursery, UK. USPP#15555: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF. Note that botanists have recently reclassified and named this species Oenothera lindheimeri. Here at Heritage Perennials, we'll continue to list it under it’s more commonly familiar Latin name for now.
