Dianthus Scent First® Romance

Scent First Dianthus

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.181.090

(=‘WP09 WEN04’) The Scent First® series of Border Pinks recently arrived from England and are known for their spicy fragrance, compact habit and long season of bloom. This tall selection forms a low cushion of grassy, grey-blue foliage topped with double flowers featuring frilly, salmon-pink petals with a carmine eye, looking very much like little carnations. An excellent addition to the sunny rock garden, alpine trough and for edging. Attractive to butterflies. Plants should be trimmed lightly after blooming to maintain their tight, compact mound. Evergreen. The flower petals of all types of Dianthus are edible. This series bred by Whetman Pinks, Ltd., UK, was the recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). USPP#21843: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
