Dianthus Star Double™ Starlette

Whetman Star Pinks

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.180.890

(=‘Evian’) This collection is considered the best in Dianthus genetics with attractive, mounding foliage, excellent vigour and heat tolerance. Pinks are especially popular as edging plants or in the rock garden. This selection forms a low, grassy, cushion of grey-green leaves, bearing upright stems of double, deep raspberry-pink, frilled flowers that have a darker raspberry-pink eye and a spicy clove fragrance. Drought tolerant once established. Shear lightly after blooming. Flowers may be attractive to butterflies. Evergreen. This selection may well prove to be hardy to Zone 3 or colder, but excellent drainage is essential. One of the Star Double™ collection from Whetman® Pinks in Devon, UK. USPP#21438: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
