Dianthus ‘Mountain Mist’

Cheddar Pinks

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.180.620

Cheddar Pinks have been grown in gardens for centuries. This recent selection is excellent as an edging plant, or in the rock garden. Plants form a low cushion of steel-blue, grassy foliage, bearing masses of small, fragrant dusty-rose flowers in late spring. Reported to be one of the better Pinks for regions with warm, humid summers. Clip plants back lightly with shears immediately after flowering is finished. Drought tolerant once established. Not always easy to divide, but this can be attempted in early spring or fall. Flowers may be attractive to butterflies. Evergreen.
