Cyclamen hederifolium

Hardy Fall Cyclamen

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.171.200

Gardeners are often surprised to learn that there are hardy Cyclamen available. Many species exist, and this one is one of the easiest to succeed with. Plants come up in the fall, first producing short stems of pink or white flowers, like shooting stars, the petals bending backwards, away from the pointed centre. Beautiful foliage appears next, in shades of grey-green with purplish markings, lasting through the winter months. Plants go completely dormant for the summer months, so mark the spot carefully. Be sure to plant with the top of the tuber exposed, otherwise these will rot. May self seed.
