Corydalis elata

Blue Corydalis

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.167.400

Several selections of Blue Corydalis are now available. This species, originating from southwest Sichuan Province in China, is considered by many to be the best of the true blue Corydalis. The plant forms a clump of elegant, lacy yellow-green leaves, bearing upright stems with dangling tubular flowers of bright, true blue. Flowers emit a gardenia-like fragrance, especially on warm days. Performs well in both cool and hot summer climates, flowering from spring into summer. Choose a site with dappled sunlight and rich, woodland soil that remains evenly moist. Dislikes summer drought. Divide carefully in early spring. Spreads slowly to form a patch. Evergreen.
