Clematis tangutica

Golden Clematis

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.157.500

Gardeners usually think first of the large-flowered hybrid Clematis, but there are other types also well worth growing. This adaptable species features bright yellow bell-shaped flowers that appear through the summer, followed by the feathery tufted seed heads. An excellent ground cover for difficult areas with poor soil. With support, it will climb up to 4m (15ft). Not fussy at all as to soil type, but prefers a sunny site. Plants may be pruned back to about 6 inches in the spring every 4 to 5 years to renew growth.
