Chrysanthemum ‘Matchsticks’

Garden Mum

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.145.460

Hardy Garden Mums are extremely popular plants providing a splash of colour in late summer and fall. This unique selection produces a compact, upright mound of green leaves featuring quilled flowers that consist of spoon-shaped golden-yellow petals with red tips surrounding a yellow eye. Easy-to-grow in the border and in containers. Excellent when combined with other fall blooming perennials such as Aster and Sedum. Attractive to butterflies. Best in a sunny area, with regular watering through the season. Divide every 2 to 3 years in the spring, to maintain vigorous, healthy plants. Plants may grow taller in their second season – if so, pinch back by half before mid-July to encourage bushiness. CAUTION: May cause skin allergy.
