Cerastium candidissimum

Greek Snow-in-summer

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.130.100

A seldom-seen but easy species of Snow-in-summer, this forms a low mat or carpet of silvery-grey foliage. Small white star-shaped flowers appear in late spring for several weeks. This species is well-behaved and not a rampant spreader. Excellent for edging, for rock gardens or cascading from rock walls. Easily divided in spring or early autumn, if desired. Very drought tolerant once established. Evergreen in most regions. Possibly hardy in Zone 3 or colder.
