Armeria maritima ‘Vesuvius’

Black-leaved Thrift

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.070.270

Native to seaside cliffs, Thrift is a durable perennial for most any sunny location. This interesting selection forms a low tufted mound of smoky-purple leaves, contrasting with deep pink pompon flowers for many weeks starting in late spring. Trim off the spent flowers to encourage repeat blooming. Good rock garden or edging plant. Also excellent in tubs or mixed containers, particularly alpine trough gardens.
