Blechnum spicant
Plant number: 9.017.050
This fern is native to the Pacific Northwest, growing in moist, shady woodland situations. Plants form a wide, low clump of sterile fronds or leaves, with fertile fronds shooting straight up from the centre of the plant. Prefers moist, acidic conditions, but this fern will handle a fair bit of sun in cool summer regions. Use a mulch of compost around the plants to help conserve moisture through the summer. Evergreen.
