Salvia argentea

Silver Sage

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.468.030

An unusual foliage plant, valued for its intensely silver, fuzzy leaves that are arranged in a wide rosette. Spikes of yellowish flowers will appear in the second year, but these are usually removed. Excellent at the front of the border where the foliage can be seen and appreciated. A short-lived perennial, but spectacular for a couple of years. If small side shoots appear in the second spring they can be removed with roots to produce another generation of plants. Plants can also be allowed to flower and set seeds, since self-sown seedlings usually will result. Must have excellent drainage.
