Phlox stolonifera ‘Sherwood Purple’
Creeping Phlox |
USDA Zone: 2-9 |
Plant number: 1.410.700
The true Creeping Phlox are woodland plants, native to Eastern North America. Plants form a low spreading mound of leathery, evergreen leaves. Short upright stems appear in mid-spring, bearing clusters of sweetly-fragrant flowers for several weeks. This selection has deep purple-blue flowers. Ideal for any moist, shady area, particularly when used as an edging or groundcover. Combines beautifully with spring-flowering bulbs of all kinds. Plants benefit from a hard clip immediately after blooming, to encourage a dense low habit. Easily divided in early fall.
