Lupinus ‘Manhattan Lights’

Westcountry Lupine

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.330.800

The tall spires of Lupines are an early-summer border classic. Plants grow best in a deep, rich soil, slightly on the acidic side. This British hybrid produces tall stems with spikes of bicolor blooms, in a combination of glowing grape purple and soft yellow. Prune back to 6 inches after blooming, to rejuvenate the foliage. As Lupines are not particularly long lived, plan to add in new plants every couple of years. Be on the lookout for aphid infestations just around blooming time and control with an organic insecticide. Powdery mildew is sometimes also a problem. Bred and introduced by Westcountry Nurseries in Devon, UK. USPP#18868: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
