Helleborus ‘Pink Parachutes’

Winter Thrillers Hellebore

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.255.590

The Winter Thrillers™ series of Lenten Rose are easy and colourful spring bloomers for the shade garden. Plants produce bushy mounds of thick, leathery evergreen leaves. Flower stalks appear in early spring, bearing large, showy cup-shaped blooms. This selection has single blooms of bright pink with dark pink to wine specks on each petal. Most flowers have soft blush pink backs while others have white backs, giving a two-tone effect to the blooms. Site these where they will stay for many years, since the plants resent being disturbed. Trim the old leaves to the ground in late winter before the buds emerge, to allow the flowers maximum impact. Lenten Rose was selected as the 2005 Perennial Plant of the Year. Bred and introduced by Chris Hansen. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
