Eryngium × zabelii ‘Neptune’s Gold’

Sea Holly

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.205.180

Sea Holly features open umbels of blue prickly flowers, which are a favourite for cutting, fresh or dried. This superb selection is the first all-gold leaved Sea Holly offering a stunning colour combination. Bright golden leaves and bracts contrast greatly with the steel blue stems and flower heads. Leaves emerge bright yellow, fade to chartreuse and then age to a lovely gold and green combination. The long lasting, deep periwinkle blue flowers are surrounded by bracts that are graduated from silver to gold and then soft lavender. A versatile plant, fitting well into the sunny border but also terrific in pots or tubs. Bred by Neil Alcock in the UK and introduced by Plants for Europe. USPP#27092: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
