Dianthus Silver Star

Border Pinks

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.181.040

(=‘WP10 HEL01’)  Border Pinks have been popular in gardens for centuries. This selection produces large, semi-double, white ruffled flowers with a maroon eye. The flowers are held erect on long, upright stems over a compact mound of blue-green foliage. Flowers have a spicy fragrance. Attractive to butterflies. Excellent for edging, in rock gardens and containers. Deadhead regularly to encourage more buds to form. The flower petals of all types of Dianthus are edible. Plants require good drainage and are an excellent choice for hot dry sites or gravelly soils. Combines beautifully with other alpine plants. Evergreen. USPPP: unlicensed propagation prohibited.
