Dianthus Scent First® Coral Reef

Scent First Dianthus

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.181.260

(=‘WPO7OLDRICE’) The Scent First® series of Border Pinks recently arrived from England and are known for their spicy fragrance, compact habit and long season of bloom. This selection forms a low cushion of grassy, grey-blue foliage topped with double flowers featuring frilly, deep coral petals with white picotee edge. An excellent addition to the sunny rock garden, alpine trough and for edging. Attractive to butterflies. Plants should be trimmed lightly after blooming to maintain their tight, compact mound. Evergreen. The flower petals of all types of Dianthus are edible. This series from Whetman Pinks, Ltd., UK, was the recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). USPP#19660: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF (open).
