Thrift is a durable perennial, terrific for edging sunny beds or growing in a rock garden. The grassy, evergreen leaves form a low tufted mound. Taller stems hold small heads of white pompon flowers for many weeks starting in late spring. Trim off the spent flowers to encourage repeat blooming. Suitable for growing in mixed containers or alpine trough gardens. Among the few perennials that are tolerant of high salt soil conditions.
